batsEvery year as Halloween comes around we all start preparing for the colder weather such as sleet, snow and early morning black ice. This means looking into our boys’ wardrobe for winter items. Are those boots he wore last year so small that they need to be replaced? Does he have a couple pairs of gloves, hats and a scarf? What about socks, pants, long sleeve shirts, sweater and a jacket or hoodie?

For my family this means finding that outfit for Holiday pictures. The perfect boy outfit that looks so nice a clean during the photo shoot and becomes an every day shirt for school. This year Wes and Willy came up with two great button down shirt designs that fit that niche perfectly. I will be pairing them with Wes and Willy’s City College corduroy pants which are available in several colors. The adjustable waist and easy slide and hook closure will make these fit any boy and allow him to get dressed on his own.

If you are looking for a more formal look, we will be re-introducing a selection from Hartstrings (formerly called Kitestrings). We love this brand for their more “dressed-up” look and the quality put into the manufacturing of each piece of clothing.

Kissy Kissy’s newest Holiday design is heartwarming and will just about make any little infant boy look like the latest model for the brand. Clean crisp white rompers, one pieces and outfits are the perfect choice for a picture day full of holiday 1st Christmas Bibcheer.

We would love for you to share with us pictures of your boy(s) in clothing from The Boy’s Store.

jacketIf you have been looking for a warm but stylish jacket for your boy, Appaman’s Vintage English Biker Jacket will fit that slot perfectly.

Appaman in its usual fashion has paid attention to every single little detail when putting together the design of this jacket, from the pull on the zipper to the sleeve cuffs. I have no doubt that it will keep him warm and looking good.

The following pictures will allow you to judge for yourself:

Care for the Vintage English Biker Jacket is easy throwing it in your washing machine and dryer. No need to run to the cleaners, which if your boy is like mine, would be a weekly occurrence.

boyIf you haven’t read my first post in this series, here is a quick recap. On the 15 of September I decided to provide my twitter followers a daily tip on activities, crafts and other ways to help entertain a boy.

Most every day, I will tweet the tip at approximately 8:30AM Pacific Time. You can read them on twitter or just wait for my compilations which I will post on this blog. You can find part 1 here.

Here are tips 16 through 30:

  1. Teach him to cook simple items. Hotdog, popcorn, sugar cookies, French toast, eggs. Let him help prepare crock pot meals.

  2. Turn a walk into a safari – Take a magnifying glass & Look at insects up close. Listen to birds chirp, leaves rustle & just chat

  3. Have a picnic – at the park, in your backyard, in the living room if it’s raining. Use a blanket, reusable, tableware, kick back…

  4. Try cloud watching – Find a comfortable spot, spread out a towel or blanket, lie down with your boys, and see what you can see…

  5. Adopt a tree – Choose a favorite tree you can visit often, take notes on size & shape. Gather leaves, seeds & flowers – journal it

  6. Treasure hunt – Take pictures of items in your neighborhood. Create handouts and send the kids out to find them. **Set boundaries**

  7. Keep a nature journal – pick a spot in your garden, the park… & revisit regularly – note changes – compare with last entry
