Tips 60 through 75:

  1. Learn a new language – create flash cards with words in rebus format to help with pronunciation – write word & translation on back

  2. Learn a new language (2) – pick his favorite movie, yes the one he can recite in his sleep, and change the language selection

  3. New language (3) – try playing scrabble in your new language – use the dictionary, internet, friends 2 come up with possible words

  4. New Language (3) – Learn to sing songs in your new language – find MP3 tracks on the internet you can download and listen to help…

  5. New language (4) Find a pen pal, listed in most children’s magazine, & help him correspond in his new language – use translation site

  6. Get a large box from an appliance store & help him make a fort out it. Cut outs for “windows”, lookouts, door, decorate with markers

  7. Use an appliance box to make a puppet theater – use stuffed animals for the show or make puppets out of socks, paper bags. Have fun

  8. Make garlands out of popcorn, seeds and dried fruit – use hemp or other natural fiber string – hang in shrubs & trees for the birds

  9. Santa Plate – Purchase a plate a thrift store – let him decorate it with non-toxic paint – use for Christmas morning cookies & milk

  10. play a game of twister with preset rules & metronome (available online) – will get your heart rate up & should get a few giggles too

  11. Have a physical abilities “test” – use a timer & score sheet to see who can perform best – u could do push ups, sit ups, lunges…

  12. Create an obstacle course in your garage and/or family room – use chairs, stepping stools, baskets, buckets. Helps with winter blues

  13. Try yoga – pull out mats or blankets, turn on soft music, start with easy poses, to help with balance & quieting his body

  15. Teach them the significance of your holiday to un-commercialize it – so they can learn to help others rather than clamor for gifts

  16. Make salt candles – required plain salt , wick and minimal amount of wax. Use every day jar as container, food dies for added color
