boyEntertaining a boy part 3 is a recap of The Boy’s Store’s daily Tweeter tips. A continuation of a series of tips written in a 140 characters or less providiving tips on activities that can be used to entertain a boy.

Tips 31 through 45:

  1. Map Making, sketch a map of your neighborhood, include symbols for features such as streams, parks, roads, stores. Include a legend

  2. Make paper snowflakes – use compass, plate or glass to cut a circle – fold in half, then in thirds & then in halves again – cut …

  3. Walk along a river bank & look for animals, watch insects “walking” on the water, catch small river animals, study a waterfall…

  4. Play subtraction in the car – count the cars you meet, subtract one for every one you pass or are passed by

  5. Animal farm – collect animals for your farm. 1st person to a sign with a lion, or a sheep in a filed adds that animal to his farm.

  6. License plate bingo – Choose a number, every time you see it on a license plate call out “bingo”, thus AHJ424 would be bingo, bingo

  7. Play I spy while in the car – take turns selecting something that all must watch for – 1st one to see the named item, calls “I spy:

  8. Another car game – When passing a truck w/a load, together make up a story of where it came from & is going, who is expecting it…

  9. Car game – Look for out of state plates – Try to list state capitol, flower, bird, animal, nickname, teams, colleges, landmarks…

  10. Find a local pick your own fruit and/or vegetable farm, while choosing what to harvest talk about what you could make with it…

  11. Create a calendar – list family & church special days, birthdays, holidays – use an almanac to find events, add pictures & a label

  12. License plate bingo, choose a few numbers (bingo #), start count using lic. plate info, anytime you come to chosen #, yell out bingo

  13. Use pictures from catalogs or magazines. Choose a subject such as family, sports, cars, animals to make a collage & tell a story

  14. Spread peanut butter or a pine cone, roll it in sunflower seeds or just any bird seed food attach with a small wire to a tree
