Halloween Crafts: Fluffy Pumpkin Slime
Slime has been very popular the last few years. In our house we love to make it, we try to avoid the recipes that ask for Borax which can irritate skin, but otherwise we do enjoy a good slime recipe. Instead of Borax (or liquid Starch which still contains Borax) we choose to use either contact solution or baking soda.
We wanted a fun Halloween themed slime to keep the kids busy this month and we found this fun and simple recipe at I Heart Arts N Crafts. This recipe uses baking soda and saline solution with shaving cream to create that fun fluffy texture.
You can make it in any color you want, we love the orange as it reminds us of pumpkins and that just screams Halloween. I Heart Arts N Crafts has an incredibly easy tutorial that is simple to follow, my 7 year old actually made it alone while I worked in the kitchen on dinner. We put out some of our fun Halloween themed toys like spider rings, skulls, bats, and got some little plastic pumpkins for the kids to play with and stick in the slime. It made for a good long activity that lasted all night.
